Al Amador

Background

Al has extensive experience in the information technology field as a director of numerous enterprise implementations and over two decades of keynote speaking, communication training, teaching, coaching and facilitating. As a keynote speaker, Al has addressed groups ranging from senior level executives to technical managers to large association conference audiences.

Al’s specialty is bringing teams together to work on the key areas of trust, meaningful conflict, commitment and clarity. He has a passion for coaching managers and teams, as well as a reputation for connecting with both senior business and technical leaders.

At Kaiser Permanente, Al was the program manager of credit card security and during his time with Robert Half International, he led the team that developed the company intranet and key business applications. In 2009, Al ran a successful Oracle R12 implementation for Bare Escentuals.

Al began his career as a community college speech instructor and speech team coach in 1985 and moved into non-profit management as the Executive Director of the Pleasant Chamber of Commerce and later as the Marketing Director for the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Al eventually transitioned into the enterprise information technology field where he held leadership positions for over twelve years.

His international experience includes a year-long assignment as the speech writer for the executives of Haseko Corporation, Japan, served as the Rotary International Group Study Exchange Leader to South Korea, and was a marketing and communications consultant to Zerboni Labs, Mexico City. Al also led numerous enterprise technical implementation efforts with teams in the UK, India, China, Japan, Germany, Canada and Latin America.

A graduate of San Francisco State University in Speech and Communications, Al continues to lecture at the local community college and serve in a volunteer capacity for numerous organizations. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and two children.
